Guidelines
1. Make sure
you are aware of the Contempt of Court laws.
2. Must be
careful not to broadcast anything which could be disputed in court.
3. Get formal
training in the law as it effects journalists in order to avoid the legal
minefield.
According to the reading, what are at least seven guidelines when
conducting an interview especially with Children?
1. Allow
plenty of time.
2. You must
get permission from parents or guardians before you can interview a child under
sixteen years old.
3. If you are
planning to interview children on school premises, you must also get permission
from the head teacher.
4. Sometime
interview children in group are more profitable.
5. Find a
place or room where the children will feel relaxed.
6. Get them
talking about the topic you want to discuss by showing them a relevant picture
or artefact, or try playing them sounds on your recorder and asking them to
identify what they hear.
7. Ask open
question and show an interest in what they tell you.

concerning the recording of interviews by telephone?
1. Make it
clear who calling and for what purpose.
2. Broadcasters
should normally identify themselves to telephone interviewees from the outset
or seek agreement from the other party.
